Plaines-Saint-Lange liegt etwa 39 Kilometer südöstlich von Troyes an der Seine. Nachbargemeinden sind Courteron im Norden und Nordwesten, Essoyes im Nordosten, Mussy-sur-Seine im Süden und Osten sowie Gyé-sur-Seine im Westen und Nordwesten.
