Courteron liegt etwa 40 Kilometer südöstlich von Troyes an der Seine. Nachbargemeinden sind Gyé-sur-Seine im Norden, Süden und Westen, Essoyes im Osten und Nordosten sowie Plaines-Saint-Lange im Süden und Westen.
