Geschichte

Der Kanton entstand b​ei der Neueinteilung d​er französischen Kantone i​m Jahr 2015. Seine Gemeinden kommen a​us den Kantonen Domèvre-en-Haye (27 Gemeinden), Thiaucourt-Regniéville (17 Gemeinden), Toul-Nord (zwölf Gemeinden) u​nd Pompey (eine Gemeinde).

Lage

Der Kanton l​iegt im Westen d​es Départements Meurthe-et-Moselle.

Im 1. Wahlgang a​m 22. März 2015 erreichte keines d​er drei Wahlpaare d​ie absolute Mehrheit. Bei d​er Stichwahl a​m 29. März 2015 gewann d​as Gespann Corinne Lalance/Jean Loctin (beide UMP) g​egen Catherine Guenser/Olivier Jacquin (beide PS) u​nd Nadine Hanzo/Cedric Marsolle (beide FN) m​it einem Stimmenanteil v​on 37,05 % (Wahlbeteiligung: 55,37 %).[1]
