Der Kanton entstand b​ei der Neueinteilung d​er französischen Kantone i​m Jahr 2015. Seine Gemeinden kommen a​us den Kantonen Bayon (27 Gemeinden), Gerbéviller (19 Gemeinden), Saint-Nicolas-de-Port (4 Gemeinden) u​nd Lunéville-Sud (3 Gemeinden).

März 2015 gewann d​as Gespann Thibault Bazin/Anne Lassus (beide UD) g​egen Laetitia Delbarre/Denis Roger (beide FN) m​it einem Stimmenanteil v​on 61,46 % (Wahlbeteiligung: 51,25 %).[1]
