Durch Saint-Jean-Saint-Nicolas fließt der Drac. Die Gemeinde grenzt im Norden an Champoléon, im Osten an Orcières, im Süden an Ancelle und Saint-Léger-les-Mélèzes, im Südwesten an Chabottes sowie im Westen an Saint-Michel-de-Chaillol.
