Umgeben wird Montigny-le-Franc von den Nachbargemeinden Saint-Pierremont im Westen, Tavaux-et-Pontséricourt und Agnicourt-et-Séchelles im Norden, von den im Kanton Vervins gelegenen Gemeinden Chaourse im Nordosten und Clermont-les-Fermes im Südosten sowie von der im Kanton Guignicourt gelegene Gemeinde Ébouleau im Süden und Südwesten.
