Tarsul liegt rund 22 Kilometer nordnordöstlich von Dijon am Ignon. Nachbargemeinden sind Courtivron im Norden und Westen, Saulx-le-Duc im Osten und Nordosten, Villecomte im Südosten sowie Vernot im Süden und Südwesten.
