Butot liegt etwa 19 Kilometer nordnordwestlich von Rouen. Umgeben wird Butot von den Nachbargemeinden Saint-Ouen-du-Breuil im Norden, Le Bocasse im Osten, Sierville im Süden, Sainte-Austreberthe im Südwesten sowie Hugleville-en-Caux im Westen.
