Geografie
Thivencelle liegt etwa zehn Kilometer nordwestlich von Valenciennes am Fluss Haine und seinem Zufluss Hogneau, am Rande des Regionalen Naturparks Scarpe-Schelde (französisch: Parc naturel régional Scarpe-Escaut) nahe der Grenze zu Belgien. Thivencelle wird umgeben von den Nachbargemeinden Condé-sur-l’Escaut im Norden und Westen, Saint-Aybert im Norden und Osten, Crespin im Süden und Südosten sowie Quarouble im Süden und Südwesten.
