Geografie
Sassenay liegt an der Saône. Umgeben wird Sassenay von den Nachbargemeinden Gergy im Norden, Bey im Osten, Allériot im Osten und Südosten, Châtenoy-en-Bresse im Süden, Crissey im Westen und Südwesten sowie Virey-le-Grand im Westen und Nordwesten.
