Lage
Montmurat liegt im Zentralmassiv, etwa 39 Kilometer südwestlich von Aurillac. Umgeben wird Montmurat von den Nachbargemeinden Saint-Santin-de-Maurs im Norden, Saint-Santin im Osten, Livinhac-le-Haut im Süden und Südosten sowie Montredon im Süden und Westen.
