Saint-Aubin-la-Plaine liegt am etwa 31 Kilometer ostsüdöstlich von La Roche-sur-Yon. Umgeben wird Saint-Aubin-la-Plaine von den Nachbargemeinden Sainte-Hermine im Norden, Saint-Étienne-de-Brillouet im Osten und Nordosten, Nalliers im Süden und Osten, Sainte-Gemme-la-Plaine im Westen und Südwesten sowie Saint-Jean-de-Beugné im Westen und Nordwesten.
