Ventelay liegt etwa 30 Kilometer westnordwestlich des Stadtzentrums von Reims. Umgeben wird Ventelay von den Nachbargemeinden Concevreux und Roucy im Norden, Guyencourt im Nordosten, Bouvancourt im Osten, Montigny-sur-Vesle im Süden, Romain im Westen und Südwesten sowie Meurival im Nordwesten.
