Mondavezan liegt am Bewässerungskanal Canal de Saint-Martory, 60 km südlich von Toulouse. Die Anbindung an das Straßennetz Frankreichs wird durch die Autoroute A64 hergestellt.
Der Ortsname leitet sich vom lateinischen Montis Avicenae („Vogelberg“) her.
