Le Chaffal befindet sich etwa 21 Kilometer ostsüdöstlich von Valence. Umgeben wird Le Chaffal von den Nachbargemeinden Léoncel im Norden, Omblèze im Osten, Plan-de-Baix im Süden, Gigors-et-Lozeron im Südwesten, Combovin im Westen sowie Châteaudouble im Nordwesten.
