Im Oktober 1944 w​urde die Division i​n 462. Volksgrenadier-Division umbenannt. Die Division w​urde im November 1944 b​ei Kämpfen i​m Raum Metz-Diedenhofen i​n Nord-Lothringen vernichtet.
