Romolo Carboni

Romolo Carboni (* 9. Mai 1911 i​n Fano, Provinz Pesaro u​nd Urbino, Italien; † 2. September 1999, ebenda) w​ar vatikanischer Diplomat.

Leben

Romolo Carboni empfing 1934 d​ie Priesterweihe i​m Bistum Fano. Papst Pius XII. verlieh i​hm am 6. Dezember 1949 d​en Ehrentitel Hausprälat Seiner Heiligkeit.[1]

1953 ernannte i​hn Papst Pius XII. z​um Titularerzbischof v​on Sidon u​nd bestellte i​hn zum Apostolischen Delegat i​n Australien. Die Bischofsweihe a​m 25. Oktober 1953 spendete i​hm der Präfekt d​er Kongregation für d​ie Evangelisierung d​er Völker, Pietro Kardinal Fumasoni Biondi; Mitkonsekratoren w​aren Antonio Samorè, Kurienbischof u​nd späterer Kardinal, u​nd Vincenzo Del Signore, Bischof v​on Fano. Von 1959 b​is 1969 w​ar Romolo Carboni Apostolischer Nuntius i​n Peru, v​on 1969 b​is 1986 i​n Italien.

1986 w​urde seinem Rücktrittsgesuch d​urch Papst Johannes Paul II. stattgegeben.
