Die Liste der Lieder der Rolling Stones ist eine Übersicht der Lieder der 1962 gegründeten englischen Rockband The Rolling Stones. Die Band zählt zu den langlebigsten[1] und kommerziell erfolgreichsten[2] Gruppen in der Rockgeschichte. 1989 wurden sie in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen. Die Musikzeitschrift Rolling Stone listete sie auf Rang vier der 100 größten Musiker aller Zeiten.[3] Mit Nummer-Eins Hits in den Jahren 1968 und 2020 sind sie in Deutschland die ältesten Spitzenreiter aller Zeiten.[4]
Hintergrund
Die Rolling Stones, die am 12. Juli 1962 erstmals unter dem Namen The Rollin’ Stones in der Besetzung Mick Jagger (Gesang), Brian Jones (Gitarre), Keith Richards (Gitarre), Dick Taylor (Bass), Ian Stewart (Piano) und – vermutlich – Tony Chapman (Schlagzeug) im Marquee Club in der Londoner Oxford Street auftraten und hier vor etwa 100 Zuschauern fünf Coversongs vortrugen, haben in ihrer mehr als 50-jährigen Bandgeschichte und Karriere bisher über 20 Studioalben, über 25 Livealben, über 30 Kompilationen, über 40 Videoalben, 10 Boxsets und über 100 Singles und EPs veröffentlicht. Insgesamt haben sie – geschätzt – mehr als 200 Millionen Tonträger verkauft, davon alleine in ihrer Heimat über 13,1 Millionen. Sie zählen damit zu den Interpreten mit den meisten verkauften Tonträgern weltweit.
Die Rolling Stones, deren aktuelle Bandbesetzung aus Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts (seit 1963) und Ron Wood (seit 1975) besteht, haben seit der Bandgründung mehr als fünfhundert Rock- und Bluesrock-Songs aufgenommen und interpretiert, wobei mehr als dreihundert Songs von dem Songwriter-Duo Mick Jagger und Keith Richards stammen. Im Repertoire der Band finden sich aber auch viele Coversongs, etwa von B.B. King, Bo Diddley, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Hank Williams, Jimmy Reed, Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon und vielen anderen.
