Velaine-sous-Amance liegt etwa neun Kilometer ostnordöstlich von Nancy und wird umgeben von den Nachbargemeinden Laneuvelotte im Norden und Westen, Champenoux im Osten und Nordosten, Réméréville im Südosten, Buissoncourt im Süden und Südosten sowie Cerville im Süden und Südwesten.
