Bis zur landesweiten Neuordnung der französischen Kantone im März 2015 gehörten zum Kanton Lussac-les-Châteaux die zehn Gemeinden Bouresse, Civaux, Gouex, Lhommaizé, Lussac-les-Châteaux, Mazerolles, Persac, Saint-Laurent-de-Jourdes, Sillars und Verrières. Sein Zuschnitt entsprach einer Fläche von 318,81 km2. Er besaß vor 2015 den INSEE-Code 8614.
