Geschichte
Von 1977 bis 2015 bestand ein gleichnamiger Kanton, der das gesamte Gebiet der Gemeinde Koungou umfasste. Vertreter im Generalrat von Mayotte war von 2011 bis 2015 Saïd Ahamadi.
