Er umfasste 13 Gemeinden im Arrondissement Pamiers, sein Hauptort (frz.: chef-lieu) war Le Fossat. Die landesweiten Änderungen in der Zusammensetzung der Kantone brachten im März 2015 seine Auflösung.
