Die Communauté d’agglomération Pays Foix-Varilhes ist ein französischer Gemeindeverband mit der Rechtsform einer Communauté d’agglomération im Département Ariège in der Region Okzitanien. Sie wurde am 16. November 2016 gegründet und umfasst 42 Gemeinden. Die Einwohnerzahl liegt (1. Januar 2019) bei 31.947 Personen. Der Verwaltungssitz befindet sich in der Kleinstadt Foix.[2] Der Gemeindeverband ist nach der ehemaligen Grafschaft Foix (ab 1607 Krondomäne des Königs von Frankreich) und dem Ort Varilhes (bis 2015 Kantonshauptort und Hauptort der Communauté de communes du Canton de Varilhes) benannt.

Historische Entwicklung

Der Gemeindeverband entstand mit Wirkung vom 1. Januar 2017 als Nachfolger der Gemeindeverbände Communauté de communes du Canton de Varilhes und der Communauté de communes du Pays de Foix.

Mit Wirkung vom 1. Januar 2018 verließ die Gemeinde Freychenet den hiesigen Verband und schloss sich der Communauté de communes du Pays d’Olmes an.
