Geschichte
Das Bistum Kolwezi wurde am 11. März 1971 durch Papst Paul VI. mit der Apostolischen Konstitution Qui beatissimo aus Gebietsabtretungen des Bistums Kamina errichtet und dem Erzbistum Lubumbashi als Suffraganbistum unterstellt.[1]
