North Coast 500
Die North Coast 500 (kurz NC500) ist eine 516 mi (830 km) lange Ferienstraße entlang der Nordküste Schottlands. Sie beginnt und endet am Inverness Castle.[1] Die North Coast 500 (NC500) entstand durch die North Highland Initiative.

Die Strecke führt durch die historischen Counties Inverness-shire, Ross and Cromarty, Sutherland und Caithness in der Council Area Highland.
Im Uhrzeigersinn führt die Strecke von Inverness über Muir of Ord, Applecross, Gairloch, Ullapool, Durness, Thurso, John o’ Groats, Wick und Dunrobin Castle zurück nach Muir of Ord und Inverness.[2]
Das Now Travel Magazine zählte sie zu den „Top 5 Coastal Routes in the World“.[3] Der Telegraph bezeichnete sie als „Scotland’s Route 66“.[4]
