Jordanien besteht aus zwölf Gouvernements (arabisch محافظة / muḥāfaẓa). Ihnen steht jeweils ein Gouverneur vor.

Die Gouvernements Adschlun, Aqaba, Dscharasch und Madaba wurden 1994 eingeführt.
Die Gouvernements sind in Distrikte (arabisch لواء / Liwāʾ) und diese in Subdistrikte (arabisch قضاء / Qaḍāʾ) untergliedert.
