Geschichte
Das Bistum Simdega wurde am 28. Mai 1993 durch Papst Johannes Paul II. mit der Apostolischen Konstitution Pro Nostro aus Gebietsabtretungen des Erzbistums Ranchi errichtet und diesem als Suffraganbistum unterstellt.[1]
