Das Bistum Imus wurde am 25. November 1961 durch Papst Johannes XXIII. mit der Apostolischen Konstitution Christi fidelium aus Gebietsabtretungen des Erzbistums Manila errichtet und diesem als Suffraganbistum unterstellt.[1]
