Der höchste Berg der Kommune heißt Siggjo (474 moh.). Durch ein Tunnel- und Brückensystem (Trekantsambandet) ist Bømlo seit dem 30. April 2001 mit dem Festland und der Nachbarinsel Stord verbunden.
