Raúl Paz

Raúl Paz (* 1969 in San Luis, Pinar del Río, Kuba) ist ein kubanischer Sänger-Songschreiber und Komponist.

Mit seinem Musikstil gilt er als bedeutender Vertreter der so genannten neuen kubanischen Musik, da er diese mit Elementen des Hip-Hops, Dubs und Rocks zu einer Fusion aus Salsa, Jazz und Elektropop weiterentwickelt hat. Das Album Mulata verhalf ihm 2003 zum internationalen Durchbruch.

Von 1996 bis 2008 lebte er in Südamerika und Frankreich, meist in Paris.
