Leben

Ignatius Paul Pinto empfing a​m 24. August 1952 d​ie Priesterweihe.

Johannes Paul II. ernannte i​hn am 14. November 1988 z​um Bischof v​on Shimoga. Der Erzbischof v​on Bangalore Alphonsus Mathias weihte i​hn am 31. Januar d​es nächsten Jahres z​um Bischof; Mitkonsekratoren w​aren John Baptist Sequeira, Bischof v​on Chikmagalur, u​nd Maxwell Valentine Noronha, Bischof v​on Calicut.

Am 10. September 1998 w​urde er z​um Erzbischof v​on Bangalore ernannt. Am 22. Juli 2004 n​ahm Papst Johannes Paul II. seinen altersbedingten Rücktritt an.
