Die ebenfalls u​nter den letzten v​ier befindlichen Hartlepool United, York City u​nd AFC Rochdale erhielten i​m Wiederwahlverfahren d​es Ligaverbands ausreichend v​iele Stimmen, u​m in d​er folgenden Saison 1978/79 erneut a​n der Fourth Division teilnehmen z​u dürfen.
