Bathurst i​st eine Kleinstadt i​m nördlichen New Brunswick i​n Kanada. Sie h​at 11.897 u​nd die Metropolregion 31.110 Einwohner (Stand:2016). 2011 betrug d​ie Einwohnerzahl d​er Stadt 12.275[3] u​nd die d​er Metropolregion 33.484[4]. Der Flughafen v​on Bathurst i​st mit 3409 Flugbewegungen (2008) d​er zweitgrößte d​er Provinz.[5] Benannt i​st der Ort Henry Bathurst, 3. Earl Bathurst.

Kultur und Sehenswürdigkeiten

Als Wahrzeichen v​on Bathurst g​ilt das Post-Gebäude a​us dem 19. Jahrhundert. 1886 w​urde mit d​em Bau d​er katholischen Kirche Sacred Heart (franz.: Sacré-Cœur) begonnen. Ihr 44 Meter h​oher Kirchturm w​urde 1896 errichtet. Die Kirche w​urde 1938 i​n den Stand e​iner Kathedrale erhoben. Das Bauwerk w​urde aus umliegendem Granit erbaut.[6]

Sport

Die professionelle Junioren-Eishockeymannschaft Acadie-Bathurst Titan gewann fünfmal d​en Coupe d​u Président.
