Nationalmannschaft
1987 debütierte Matsuyama für die japanische Fußballnationalmannschaft. Matsuyama bestritt 10 Länderspiele und erzielte dabei vier Tore. Mit der japanischen Nationalmannschaft qualifizierte er sich für die Asienmeisterschaft 1988.
