Zum 1. Januar 1973 bildeten die bis dahin eigenständigen Gemeinden Savonnières-en-Woëvre, Senonville und Varvinay die neue Gemeinde Valbois.
Geschichte
Der Ort wird erstmals als „Saponariae“ im Jahr 870 genannt.
