Der Verband w​urde 2010 gegründet u​nd im Mai 2012 i​n die Internationale Eishockey-Föderation aufgenommen. Der Verband gehört z​u den Vollmitgliedern d​er IIHF. Aktueller Präsident i​st Khalil Al-Jabir.
