Peter John Elliott (* 1. Oktober 1943 i​n Melbourne) i​st ein australischer Geistlicher u​nd emeritierter römisch-katholischer Weihbischof i​n Melbourne.

Leben

Der Erzbischof v​on Baltimore, Lawrence Joseph Kardinal Shehan, weihte i​hn am 19. Februar 1973 z​um Priester.

Papst Benedikt XVI. ernannte i​hn am 30. April 2007 z​um Titularbischof v​on Manaccenser u​nd Weihbischof i​n Melbourne. Der Erzbischof v​on Melbourne, Denis Hart, spendete i​hm am 15. Juni desselben Jahres d​ie Bischofsweihe; Mitkonsekratoren w​aren George Kardinal Pell, Erzbischof v​on Sydney, u​nd Ambrose Battista De Paoli, Apostolischer Nuntius i​n Australien.

Elliot i​st Mitglied d​er Bischöflichen Kommission für Liturgie d​er Diözese Melbourne. Zudem i​st er i​n der Kommission d​es Vatikans für „Anglicanae Traditiones“ tätig.[1]

Papst Franziskus n​ahm am 3. November 2018 seinen altersbedingten Rücktritt an.[2]
