Tom Heinsohn w​urde als Territorial Pick v​on den Boston Celtics gedraftet, d​ie später a​uch die Rechte a​n Bill Russell d​urch einen Trade m​it den St. Louis Hawks bekamen. In diesen Trade w​ar auch d​er spätere All-Star "Easy" Ed Macauley verwickelt.
