MLB Draft 2018
Der MLB Draft 2018, der Entry Draft der Major League Baseball, fand vom 4. bis 6. Juni 2018 statt. Die Detroit Tigers und die San Francisco Giants waren mit identischem Ergebnis die schlechtesten Teams der Vorsaison, so dass die erste Wahl (Pick) an das schlechtere Team der Saison 2016, die Tigers, ging.[1] Diese entschieden sich mit ihrer Wahl für den Pitcher Casey Mize.[2]

In der ersten von 40 Draftrunden entschieden sich die 30 Teams am häufigsten für Pitcher (11). Gleich jeweils zwei Talente kamen von der University of Florida bzw. der Oregon State.[3] Als erster der 2018 gedrafteten Spieler kam der von den Chicago Cubs gewählte Shortstop Nico Hoerner in der MLB zum Einsatz.
