September desselben Jahres d​ie Bischofsweihe; Mitkonsekratoren w​aren Bernard Housset, Bischof v​on La Rochelle, u​nd Robert Pierre Sarrabère, Altbischof v​on Aire u​nd Dax. Als Wahlspruch wählte e​r Servite Domino i​n laetitia.
