Anthony Alwyn Fernandes Barreto
Anthony Alwyn Fernandes Barreto (* 22. Dezember 1952 im Erzbistum Goa und Daman) ist ein römisch-katholischer Bischof.
Leben
Barreto besuchte das Priesterseminar St. Charles Seminary in Nagpur sowie das Seminary Pune. Er empfing am 13. Oktober 1979 das Sakrament der Priesterweihe und war danach im Bistum Poona tätig. Am 5. Juli 2005 wurde er von Papst Benedikt XVI. zum ersten Bischof des neuerrichteten Bistums Sindhudurg ernannt. Die Bischofsweihe spendete ihm am 5. Oktober 2005 Erzbischof Pedro López Quintana, Apostolischer Nuntius in Indien; Mitkonsekratoren waren der Patriarch von Ostindien und Erzbischof von Goa und Daman, Filipe Neri António Sebastião do Rosário Ferrão, und der Bischof von Poona, Valerian D’Souza.
