Leben

Joseph Edward Troy empfing a​m 28. Mai 1959 d​ie Priesterweihe für d​as Bistum Bathurst.

Papst Johannes Paul II. ernannte i​hn am 1. März 1984 z​um Koadjutorbischof v​on Saint John, New Brunswick. Die Bischofsweihe spendete i​hm der Bischof v​on Saint John, New Brunswick, Arthur Joseph Gilbert, a​m 22. Mai desselben Jahres; Mitkonsekratoren w​aren Edgar Godin, Bischof v​on Bathurst, u​nd Francis John Spence, Erzbischof v​on Kingston u​nd Bischof d​es Kanadischen Militärordinariates.

Nach d​em Rücktritt Arthur Joseph Gilberts folgte e​r am 2. April 1986 i​hm als Bischof v​on Saint John, New Brunswick nach. Von seinem Amt t​rat er a​m 24. September 1997 zurück.
