James Chan Soon Cheong (* 26. Juli 1926 in Selama) ist Altbischof von Melaka-Johor.

Leben

James Chan Soon Cheong empfing am 9. August 1959 die Priesterweihe. Paul VI. ernannte ihn am 18. Dezember 1972 zum Bischof von Malacca-Johor.

Der Erzbischof von Kuala Lumpur Dominic Vendargon spendete ihm am 8. Juni des nächsten Jahres die Bischofsweihe; Mitkonsekratoren waren Michel Olçomendy M.E.P., Erzbischof von Singapur, und Gregory Yong Sooi Ngean, Bischof von Penang.

Am 10. Dezember 2001 nahm Papst Johannes Paul II. sein altersbedingtes Rücktrittsgesuch an.
