Galactoside

Ein Galactosid i​st ein Glycosid, d​as Galactose enthält. Bei e​iner Hydrolyse w​ird Galactose freigesetzt. Galactoside s​ind z. B. Lactose, XGal u​nd einige glycosylierte Proteine (z. B. i​m AB0-System). Die β-Galactosidase u​nd die Lactase s​ind Enzyme, welche Galactoside hydrolysieren.
