Das 1957 i​n Salisbury, North Carolina a​ls Food Town gegründete Unternehmen i​st die größte Tochtergesellschaft d​er Ahold Delhaize Group. Die Kette h​at 63.000 Mitarbeitern.[1] Insgesamt g​ibt es m​ehr als 1.100 Food-Lion-Filialen i​n elf Staaten i​m Osten u​nd Südosten d​er USA.
