el Abiar
el Abiar (arabisch auch al-Abyā, الأبيار, DMG al-Abyār) ist eine Stadt im Munizip von el Merdj[1] in Libyen, etwa 50 km östlich der Stadt Bengasi und 42 km südwestlich der Stadt el Merdj. Im Jahre 2010 betrug die Bevölkerungszahl grob geschätzt etwa 32.563.[2]

Geschichte
Vor 2007 war el-Abiar die Hauptstadt des Distrikts von Hizam el-Achdar (siehe auch Liste der Städte in Libyen).
