Buota (Marakei)
Buota ist ein Ort im Osten des Maiana-Atolls in den Gilbertinseln des Inselstaats Kiribati im Pazifischen Ozean.[1] 2017 hatte der Ort ca. 293 Einwohner.

Geographie
Buota liegt im Westen von Marakei südlich von Temotu.[2] Nach Süden gibt es eine Brücke über den Baretoa HW Boat Passage nach Tekarakan. Im Ort gibt es ein traditionelles Versammlungshaus: Buota Maneaba.
Klima
Das Klima ist tropisch heiß, wird jedoch von ständig wehenden Winden gemäßigt. Ebenso wie die anderen Orte des Marakei-Atolls wird Buota gelegentlich von Zyklonen heimgesucht.
