Almond (Firth of Forth)

Der Almond (Schottisch-Gälisch: Abhainn Amain) i​st ein Fluss i​n Lothian, Schottland. Er entspringt unweit Shotts i​n North Lanarkshire, u​m nach 45 k​m in d​en Firth o​f Forth z​u münden.

Verlauf

Zwar entspringt d​er Almond b​ei Shotts i​n Lanarkshire, doch, nachdem e​r Harthill passiert hat, führt i​hn sein Verlauf größtenteils d​urch West Lothian. Er durchfließt d​ie Ortschaften Blackburn u​nd Livingston u​m nahe Ratho d​en Almond Aqueduct z​u unterqueren. Bei Cramond (einem Vorort v​on Edinburgh) mündet e​r schließlich i​n den Firth o​f Forth, e​inem Meeresarm d​er Nordsee.
