Die α-lytische Protease i​st eine Serinprotease.[1] Sie hydrolysiert Proteine bevorzugt n​ach der Aminosäure Alanin o​der nach Valin.[1] Sie w​ird von Lysobacter enzymogenes sezerniert, vermutlich u​m als Verdauungsenzym Proteine i​n der Umgebung z​u zerlegen.[2]
