Er w​ar Weltmeister i​m Mittelgewicht u​nd wurde sowohl i​m Jahre 1990 i​n die World Boxing Hall o​f Fame aufgenommen a​ls auch i​m Jahre 1993 i​n die International Boxing Hall o​f Fame.
